AFFORDABLE HOUSING
 Harold has led the fight to insure that people have affordable housing. In recognition of his extraordinary efforts, he was named the South Carolina Affordable Housing Coalition Legislator of the Year in 2007, this in only his second year in the State House!
During the past few years, thousands of residents have moved into new affordable housing units. Many of these citizens have achieved the dream of home ownership for the first time.

Harold has also been a champion for those facing extraordinary challenges in their living environments. He is responsible for attracting $300,000 for the Spartanburg Children’s Shelter, $300,000 for the Children’s Advocacy Center, and more than $50,000 for Senior Centers. He also sponsored a tough new criminal domestic violence bill to make South Carolina homes safer for everyone.
